Mabie (1893-1961) was a journalist and writer. Born in Boston, Mass., she worked for the Bridgeport Post-Telegram until 1919, and then at the Christian Science Monitor until 1934. She was the author or coauthor of a number of books, including Heaven on Earth (1951), her reminiscences of childhood in Northfield, Mass., and evangelist D.L. Moody; and Fifty Years with the Golden Rule (1950), an autobiography of J.C. Penney. She also worked on a biography of Amelia Earhart which was never published....

The FBI established this classification when it assumed responsibility for ascertaining the protection capabilities and weaknesses of defense plants. Each plant survey was a separate case file, with the survey, supplemental surveys, and all communications dealing with a plant insofar as plant protection was concerned, filed together.
